Gaia Day Spa
1299 Prospect Street, La Jolla
858-456-8797

Based on the philosophy that all living things and their surroundings are connected to health and beauty, Gaia Day Spa focuses on the relationship between its clients and the spa atmosphere. The spa was designed using feng shui—the Chinese art of placing objects to help the flow of energy—with rounded corners and doors, water and greenery positioned to promote peace and relaxation. Large private suites add to guests’ comfort.

Gaia specializes in skin and body care, with a variety of massages and facials, including the signature Banya, a Finnish treatment that incorporates a gentle tapping of eucalyptus branches with massage, aromatherapy and sauna to boost circulation and metabolism. Specialty facials include a facial rejuvenation treatment, which tones and detoxifies underlying muscles of the face, neck and shoulders. Package prices range from $160 to $380; individual treatments are $80 to $165.
